Scope it at the tank. Bid it before the hose is rolled up.
Routine pump-outs, point-of-sale inspections, baffle and riser repairs, drainfield rescues, full system replacements — septic work runs from a quick service call to a five-figure dig. Smart Scope turns your photos and voice notes at the tank into a priced, line-item bid from your own price book, signed before you're off the property.

Out of the truck cab, off the kitchen table.
Photos from the lid down
Shoot the sludge level, the crumbling baffle, the root-choked inlet. Smart Scope reads the photos and drafts the scope, so the homeowner sees exactly what “failing” looks like.
Your book, by the gallon and the foot
Pump-outs by tank size — 1,000, 1,250, 1,500 gallons — risers by the section, line jetting by the foot, drainfield by the trench. Your rates, not a state average.
Talk it in from the tank
“1,000-gallon tank, heavy sludge, outlet baffle's gone, recommend a filter and two risers.” Say it once and the line items write themselves while you finish pumping.
Same-day bids book the backhoe
When a system's failing, homeowners call three companies. The one whose priced bid is on their phone before the others return the call wins the dig.
Deposits before the excavator moves
Replacements are five-figure jobs. Digital signature and deposit at the kitchen table means the design work and permits start on their money, not yours.
Margin per job, not per guess
Pump-outs keep the trucks moving; repairs and installs make the year. Smart Scope shows profit per job so you price the big work with a straight face.
Tank to signed bid in three steps.
Walk the system
Pump the tank, probe the field, shoot the baffles, lids, and D-box, and talk through what you find as you work.
AI drafts the bid
Photos and voice notes become a line-item estimate — risers, baffles, filters, jetting, drainfield work — priced from your own book.
Send, sign, get paid
Text or email the branded proposal at the tailgate. The homeowner signs on their phone and the deposit lands before you're off the gravel.
From routine pump-outs to full replacements.

Pump-out with add-ons
“1,250-gallon tank, heavy sludge — outlet filter's missing and the lid's cracked. Quote the pump plus a filter and a new riser lid.”
A pump-out at your 1,250-gallon rate with the filter and lid as add-on lines — signed and paid before the hose is stowed.

Point-of-sale inspection
“Real estate inspection — tank's sound, but the D-box is tilted and one lateral's taking all the flow. Write it up with repair pricing for the buyer.”
Inspection findings as a clean photo-backed report plus a priced repair bid — D-box reset and lateral work — the agent can hand straight to the buyer.

Drainfield replacement
“Field's failed — standing water over both laterals. Quote 200 feet of new lateral line with chambers, plus a pump tank option if the grade needs it.”
A full replacement proposal — excavation, chambers by the foot, pump tank option, restoration — laid out good-better-best, with the deposit collected at signing.
From first inspection to full replacement — bid every stage.
Inspections that document themselves
Point-of-sale and routine inspections turn into photo-backed reports with repair pricing attached — ready for homeowners, agents, and the health department.
Pump-outs that sell the add-ons
Every open lid shows something: missing filters, tired baffles, cracked lids. Quote the add-ons in seconds and every stop on the route earns a little more.
Repairs priced on the spot
Baffles, risers, D-boxes, jetted lines — small digs get booked same-day, before the homeowner has a chance to shop the quote around.
Replacements without the paperwork week
A failed system means permits, design, excavation, and a nervous homeowner. A clear line-item proposal with a deposit at signing keeps the job — and the timeline — yours.
Get comfortable on sample jobs before real pump-outs.
Tap Add Sample Data in Settings, pick septic, and 100 realistic sample scopes load in — tank pumpouts, drain field replacements, riser and lid installs, baffle repairs, point-of-sale inspections, full system installs. Every one carries tagged line items, an activity trail, scope-of-work notes, and a financial breakdown with margin. Poke at them, reprice them, move them through stages. None of it is real, so nothing real can break.
The whole system, documented in one pass.

Septic questions, answered
Can Smart Scope price pump-outs by tank size?
Yes — set your rates per tank size, 1,000 to 2,000 gallons and beyond, plus extra-pumping, digging fees, and locate charges as their own items. The AI grabs the right rate from your walkthrough and you confirm before it sends.
Does it handle big replacement bids with options?
That's where it earns its keep. Build good-better-best on a replacement — conventional field versus chambers versus a pressurized system — each with its own excavation, materials, and restoration lines, and let the homeowner choose.
Can I collect a deposit on a five-figure install?
Yes — signature and deposit happen together in the app, at whatever percentage you set. Design and permitting start on the customer's money, and the signed proposal keeps scope creep off the final invoice.
What does Smart Scope cost?
One subscription with everything included. See current plans on the pricing section of our home page, or download the app and take a look for yourself.
Does it work where there's no signal?
Capture doesn't need one. Site Walk notes, photos, form filling, and nameplate scanning all work offline — basements, crawlspaces, and dead zones included — and sync when you're back in coverage. AI drafting runs when you have a connection, so walk the job dark and let the estimate build on the drive out.
Is there an Android version?
Smart Scope runs on iPhone and iPad today; Android is on the roadmap. Your customers don't need the app at all — estimates, forms, and the portal open as web links on any device.
Does it replace my dispatch or routing software?
No — and it doesn't try. Smart Scope is the estimating layer: it wins the job, then syncs the scope straight to Smart Service, with webhooks to push your data anywhere else. Your dispatch board and routing stack stay right where they are.
Can my crew use it too?
It's built for the person doing the estimating, but it doesn't stop there — dispatch scopes to other users, put EyesOn live video in every tech's hand, and let the office follow along on Command OPS.
What does it cost to try?
Nothing — 45 days, full app, no credit card. When the trial ends you're never auto-charged; the app goes view-only until you decide, and your data stays yours to export.
Can it fill my county's inspection forms?
Upload the county's PDF once and Smart Scope maps the fields. Answer it at the tank — offline included — and out comes the county-ready form, flattened and attached to the job.
Next pump-out, leave with more than an emptied tank.
Download Smart Scope on the App Store or text SCOPE to 59232 — your rates, your tank sizes, signed septic bids on-site.
